vibes of each different frat's partiees
by: IncomingI was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the vibe of each frat is like at their parties.

Don't really feel like getting into the specifics but I'll do my best:
Lambda: I hope you like the song "tremor". You'll be surrounded by a bunch of really buff guys and a lot of zeta's. They are however relatively respectful of women. Out of the top, despite the whole meat head thing going on they are more of the nice guy frat who will take their time and try and have an actual conversation with you. It can definitely be refreshing.
Sigma Chi: These will be more of your typical Elon frat guys. AKA.. they really only want to get into your pants. If you don't mind every dude in a 10 foot radius of you eyeing you up like a piece of meat then their parties are actually lit. You will be surrounded by phi mu's as well. LOTS of Boston kids in this fraternity.
KA: These guys are definitely the most polarizing..you either love em or you hate em. They are you're "southern fraternity" at Elon. These boys are you're typical top tier Elon frat guys except they drink more, fight more, and just all around cause more trouble. That being said they are super fun and if you get them alone they are actually very sweet. But KA is pretty much the sole reason why we cant have nice things. Expect to be surrounded by sigmas.
K Sig: Once again you're looking at your typical top tier Elon frat guys but just a classier version. They are mostly from wealthy areas of Connecticut and New York. When I say classy, don't expect to get handed a glass of champagne on your way into a party, but expect..

K Sig is not top tier. KA is barely. And this year Pi Kappa, K Sig and KA will fight it out again.

What r u talking about. Kappa Sig, Sig chi, and KA are in a league of their own. all other frats can bend the knee

Idk is an idiot. Lambda is a fad.. other frats will come and go but K Sig, KA, and Sig Chi are the old guard fraternities at Elon and it will always be that way. Also, Pi Kapp definitely cannot keep this up forever, it's only a matter of time before they fade away.

Yeah that is relatively true. Sig ep, sig pi, and pi kapp used to be old school Elon frats but they got kicked off. When sig ep got back on campus they were a bunch of squids, same will happen when sig pi and pi kapp are reinstated.

No one likes most of Kappa Sig, some of them yes. Kappa Sig is all sausage parties and they are known for hanging out with dudes.
They are not top tier. End of story.

Top tier has not gotten too big, and will probably remain at 4/5. The math is pretty easy to follow here:
Each (top tier) fraternity averages around 15 guys per spring pledge class, and probably around 5 for their fall pledge class. Due to a handful of kids that drop pledging every year (each pledge class usually has at least 1), this results in the fraternities averaging around 70 members. Of course some fraternities are much larger (lambda is probably around 90) and some are much smaller (ka probably has around 55). Pretty much all of the guys attend their org's parties every weekend. As such, the total number of partying men in the top tier is around 280 with 4 fraternities and 350 with 5.
As for sororities, there are 3 definitive top tier, and there is no debate here (sigma, zeta, phi mu). Each one of these sororities has one pledge class per year (in the spring) that brings in 50 girls on average. Again there are some girls not involved with their org (or who do not go to parties) but there are at least 150 girls in each of the these 3 sororities who are involved with Elon's greek social scene and for the most part only attend parties of fraternities in the top tier. Thus, the total number of partying women in the top tier is around 450.
Even with 5 fraternities in the top tier, the girls still outnumber the guys at parties by a communal 100 people at any given event. You can blatantly feel this at the parties. Elon is an enjoyable school for boys and a difficult scho

ol for girls and somehow it attracts only the most beautiful girls and only the most average boys.
This is why there will always be a larger number of fraternities in the top tier than sororities so long as the numbers stay the same, which they have for a decade.

Elon has a history of top tier fraternities being kicked off campus because of violations: TKE, Sig Ep and recently Sigma Pi and Pi Kap (all top fraternities at some point). It is a mater of time before another falls from the top and new one steps up to fill th void. The reality is Sigma Chi and Lamda are relatively new to campus but were able to step up.

Prolly not. With the exception of lambda, the current top tier fraternities have never been kicked off campus and have been skating out of trouble for decades. KA, Kappa Sig, and Sig Chi are masters at their craft and have been for quite some time now.

Didn't mean to imply that lambda had been kicked off (that would be false). Only that they aren't as established as those other fraternities.

the boys to be dressed nicer than your standard top tier Elon guy. These are the guys who during their free time, instead of getting high and watching sports center will go golfing or to play racquetball. Back to the point.. they have a good party vibe and are typically followed by the cleaner classier girls. Expect to be surrounded by a solid split of phi mu and zeta.
The rest are irrelevant tbh except Pi Kapp, I just don't know enough about em.
Also every fraternity will pull certain groups from sigma, zeta, and phi mu, but what is mentioned above is just who you will mostly see at their parties. Expect some random girls to be there as well.
