houses on probation
by: newbieI am an incoming freshman and honestly reading all these posts has me confused and a bit scared about pledging a house that may or may not be on probation. Does this mean that I shouldn't look at Zeta or Phi Mu at all? My cousin was a DDD pledge at IU so I know how horrible it is when a house loses a charter. What houses are good options?

Zeta has some shady stuff going on with loosing members due to grades. I am not sure what will be going on with Zeta as far being guaranteed a house for spring. If you wanted a top tier and only got a bid from Zeta I would probs take it because they always seem to skate out of a mess. Now Phi Mu is a different story. That place could literally disappear although the sisters will tell you otherwise. No way would I accept a bid there.

I hear you on taking a bid from zta if its the only option but truly the sisterhood sucks. Really awful group of vipers. I seriously think the middle tier looks to have better options this year as the drama is less, sisterhood is stronger and people are fun. Whoever said sigma is boring is a genius. I've been trying to put my finger on why they aren't an interesting group and its because they are really no fun and take themselves way to seriously.

Is panhel going to address the probation issue in orientation? Otherwise as a PNM I have no idea where to get credible information. At other schools houses on probation can't recruit and I think that is fair. This whole not knowing who or what to believe is frankly wrong as its a major expense to join.
