zeta or sigma
by: 2021What are the differences between Zeta and Sigma. I visited a few times this year and they seemed very similar. Its seemed like zeta was all pretty blonds and Sigma was all of the pretty dark haired girls. What is the main difference. Can anyone on this site actually not be vicious and not say mean things about the groups and be honest? Thanks!

well i'm personally a bit biased and like sigma more so take this as you want: zeta tends to be more surface level and a lot more superficial. very obsessed with looks and have had major grade issues lately. they're ironically known for partying, but i feel like that's more of sigmas thing now since zeta's are now a bit too concerned with their image to let themselves get that drunk. sigma tends to have a more genuine sisterhood and rumor has it they haze worse. in my own friend experiences i feel like zeta and sigma haze about the same though. zeta also gives quite a few snap bids every year, which is not a good thing. this has been less of a problem for sigma. there's my 2 cents!

I am not so sure about the hair color bias. There are a lot of blondes in sigma and a lot of brunettes in zeta. Just take a look at some social media and that stereotype will prove wrong. All I know is if you want to be in either one I suggest you have some great hair and start super conditioning this summer. Oh and grow it long and flowy.

Now this is an untrue statement here on greek rank. I know it is hard to believe that someone would post something that wasn't true but yes folks that was it. Zeta and Sigma are very different.

Delta is nice girls that bond well and have a good time.
But they feel middle tier. AZD and SK feel like top tiers that just happen to be labeled middle tier.
Guys want to hang with or impress AZD or SK, but they are just ok with hanging with Delta. This is only on a group basis.

I will tell you this . There were a group of new zeta members that sobbed on bid day. They went to another house and talked to some girls and were so sorry they didn't go another sorority. Of course nothing can be done at that point and I hope they are happy now. I think both zeta and sigma are terrific but there are differences.

Bid Day girls are hormonal and stupid.
The grass always looks greener on the other side.
I know a couple of friend groups that are Sigma and Zeta.
They are not forever enemies.

Yeah it was really bad that these new zetas went and told some sophomores that they made such a mistake. It was a few days after bid day when all the pics went up on social media and everyone figured who went where. My advice to freshman girls is to just go where YOU feel the most comfortable and not where a big friend group goes. I hope we go back to holding the phones like in years past. I think it all ends better.

If you go where your friend group goes, you always have your clique. Unless your friend group was weak and kicks you out, that's a good move.
The thing is with 100's of girls in each sorority, if you can't find a group then the problem is you.

agreed with person above. I'm a senior and knew people at elon before my time and this is how it's been. rankings and reputations don't change all that quickly...although it's safe to say sigma and zeta are on top of phi mu now. sigma has gotten exponentially better each year.
