i got a snap bit who cares....i have self respect
by: snap bid receivedI received a snap bid from Sigma. Why would i go Sigma when they cut me in the second round. Anyone who receives a snap biding takes it is desperate. Sigma, Zeta and Phi Mu all think that they are better than other sororities.so they cut good quality girls and then they fall short. Funny to look back now at what has happened. Those who received snap bids from any organization, you know who you are and so does the rest of your sorority. You will have this label throughput your sisterhood, and your PC knows too. If you were not wanted why would you stay. So many girls did no received bids, there has to be a flaw in the rushing system. Everyone only wants top tier. Maybe middle tier is where everyone should strive to be. No one hears about their issues, why because they are not full of themselves. Zeta, Sigma, yes you are filled with the prettiest girls on campus, does that make you feel special? This will not seal your space in future. Phi Mu shame on you all, your rich families may be able to keep you on campus, but everyone knows who you all are and what you did. This is the only event you were caught for, I am sure many more will come out. Don't blame the campus for your lack of diversity. You can look at the other pledge class pictures and they managed to recruit and preserve diversity. Phi Mu, Zeta, Sigma, yes, you are top tier and it will take years to change that, but hopefully people who rush next year will read the published articles in the Elon newspaper

Did you take the snap bid? I would give some thought to the reason not to take it. At other schools snap bids happen more often than you think and its just considered part of the process to balance things out and get as many people that want to be in the system part of the group. I guess I am not sure I buy the second class citizen argument as the reason not to take the snap bid but I guess its all about personal perception. If I got a snap bid to a house I liked alot, I would take it even if I had been cut earlier in recruitment. Just me. But it sounds like you made the right decision for you and that is all good!

What I think is quite amusing/sad/tragic about this entire snap bid discussion is lack of awareness that its a normal part of process (there should be no stigma attached and IT SHOULD BE EXPLAINED TO ALL PNMs). I think most in our system would be surprised which Sr Officer of one of the Top 3 in fact received a SNAP BID. Yep, it is true. So to those that get a snap bid from a house they love, take the bid and enjoy your new sisters! To those that are throwing shade on recipients of snap bids, SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why does it take "years" to change that ? LOL most people would disagree with that . You can fall quite rapidly from top tier if you have 7 girls on academic probation and have been removed from Greek life due to grades or if Nationals puts your house on probation due to behavior problems like parties with dressing up like negative racial stereotypes or "drunken "incidents" or horrible hazing .

Why are you giving my sister a hard time. Who cares that we took pictures ok our formal ( that were allowed to have) with another sorority which happened to be zeta. Why do you feel the need to bash a sorority. Who are you? It' was a positive comment. Everyone on here is trolls with fake posts. Try being honest and positive

If snap bids are a normal part of rush then why is the process not explained to PNMs when rush starts? Most freshman are clueless about snap bids and don't even know what a snap bid is or how it works ... so if it's a normal part of the rush process then why not tell girls about it? Most people act like it's taboo here and a bad thing. Maybe explaining before rush and making it transparent and not a big deal, just a part of sororities cutting girls too quickly then more would accept it.
