by: ReallySo does anyone have any idea when FSL will bring a new sorority to campus? I really think we need something new to shake up Greek life. Plus there are so many girls who either didn't get a bid or didn't find a home. I feel like they should get to have the experience of strong sorority sisterhood.

Shut up.
There's enough girls in sororities as it is and many of the sororities were giving snap bids. There are no plans for a new sorority. That stuff takes time. But go ahead and keep posting this same junk over again in a month or 2. Another example of why nothing on this site matters.

It is interesting how in the last 2 years the top tier has been shaken up and crumbling. Look at the issues they have had. The middle tier is rising and Elon looks ripe to attract a top National sorority now. Seems intentional, but I don't think even Dan Faill could do all that. Some group did not like the previous version of Greek Life.

Here's how an NPC colonization actually works. The NPC has unanimous agreements that govern this sort of thing:
Step 1: Elon/FSL has to decide if it wants to expand the number of sororities.
Step 2: All the NPC sororities individually have to determine how they would vote if the campus would open up for expansion. This typically involves input from their National Headquaeters.
Step 3: A vote is held for all the NPC sororities. If it fails, then no expansion. If it passes:
Step 4: Elon/ FSL notifies the NPC and all the sororities NOT on Elon's campus that they are open for expansion and to submit materials.
Step 5: materials are submitted by sororities who are interested and reviewed by the sororities on Elon's campus- usually with advisors/nationals input.
Step 6: 3-4 sororities are picked to do presentations to FSL and any student interested.
Step 7: the sororities with help from their nationals vote on which sorority to extend an invite to.
Step 8: FSL extends the invitation to colonize.
Step 9: the sorority accepts and time frames are set up.
There is 1 other way: if a group forms a local sorority that intends to affiliate with an NPC- they can petition FSL to expand, but I can't see that happening at Elon.
If you don't believe any of this - check with you advisors. This is how it's done. If there are sub rosa interest groups going on - they'd be underground at best.
