So does anyone have any idea when FSL will bring a new sorority to campus? I really think we need something new to shake up Greek life. Plus there are so many girls who either didn't get a bid or didn't find a home. I feel like they should get to have the experience of strong sorority sisterhood.

Shut up.
There's enough girls in sororities as it is and many of the sororities were giving snap bids. There are no plans for a new sorority. That stuff takes time. But go ahead and keep posting this same junk over again in a month or 2. Another example of why nothing on this site matters.

Not happening anytime soon. If anything, they are trying to scale Greek life down.

Not sure where you get your info but reps from 2 NPCs were here last week to scout. I agree that we need more options.

What does that mean in the next 2-3 years? Nothing.

Not so sure. Can be done in a year if the right group is put together upfront. Depends on how motivated people are to get it done.

^ That is borderline dishonest. Even if you did not mean it that way, it is not realistic.

Maybe the other group was ADPi? Other girls def need more options.

It is interesting how in the last 2 years the top tier has been shaken up and crumbling. Look at the issues they have had. The middle tier is rising and Elon looks ripe to attract a top National sorority now. Seems intentional, but I don't think even Dan Faill could do all that. Some group did not like the previous version of Greek Life.

Has NPC voted on extension?

Does anyone know if any students met with DG reps? They supposedly look to put together a group of people in advance of moving forward with the process. Interesting times. Looks like NPC might have no choice but to move forward on this situation.

DG has allegedly (according to those posting on greekrank whatever that's worth) been on many southern campuses this Spring, nosing around for interested women looking to form interest groups for sub rosa existence while DG schmoozes campus admins. There once was a DG subrosa group on a major academic campus for ten years before the campus opened for expansion, then omg surprise DG was chosen to colonize.

I was one of the freshman that got dropped this year. I still really wanna be in greek life. Did FSL actually meet with other orgs? I think GPhiB would do pretty well here.

Do y'all think anything could actually be done in the next year?

Its possible if panhel wants to push hard to get it done. But I don't sense they want to rock their very unstable boat as they are super afraid of some solid competition from top tier houses.

Here's how an NPC colonization actually works. The NPC has unanimous agreements that govern this sort of thing:
Step 1: Elon/FSL has to decide if it wants to expand the number of sororities.
Step 2: All the NPC sororities individually have to determine how they would vote if the campus would open up for expansion. This typically involves input from their National Headquaeters.
Step 3: A vote is held for all the NPC sororities. If it fails, then no expansion. If it passes:
Step 4: Elon/ FSL notifies the NPC and all the sororities NOT on Elon's campus that they are open for expansion and to submit materials.
Step 5: materials are submitted by sororities who are interested and reviewed by the sororities on Elon's campus- usually with advisors/nationals input.
Step 6: 3-4 sororities are picked to do presentations to FSL and any student interested.
Step 7: the sororities with help from their nationals vote on which sorority to extend an invite to.
Step 8: FSL extends the invitation to colonize.
Step 9: the sorority accepts and time frames are set up.

There is 1 other way: if a group forms a local sorority that intends to affiliate with an NPC- they can petition FSL to expand, but I can't see that happening at Elon.

If you don't believe any of this - check with you advisors. This is how it's done. If there are sub rosa interest groups going on - they'd be underground at best.

The sub rosa idea can totally work and its probably a good idea as it looks like Phi Mu wont be able to recruit next year due to racism charges and probation by its national and the school. We need another house especially if Zeta bites the dust too due to grades. Wow! Who thought it would end up like this here? Not me.

No way a group could come together with national backing by the end of the school year. Everything will be "forgotten about" by fall.
