I think the issue is there aren’t enough traditional sorority girls at Stanford to support more than 3 houses. So you consistently end up with about 100ish very social girls — mainly the athletes, wealthy private school girls, homecoming queens etc—joining the top 3. Then there’s a perceived fall off after that. There’s not really much of a mid tier just Bc the size of the Greek system and the population at the school. Alpha phi could easily close the gap if there were enough of the types of girls above for 4 houses. But there’s not.
