transfer question

by: Transfer

I'm considering transferring for next fall. I'll be junior age but have sophomore standing. Would it be possible for me to get a bid during rush? How competitive is the greek system?

Yes you can definitely get a bid! I totally recommend you going though! The Greek system is pretty competitive because so many girls are going through and we have only 7 sororities right now, but just be yourself and sign up early! It's one of the greatest decisions I've ever made! I promise it's worth it! :) hope to see you during fall recruitment!

Make sure you register as a sophomore, if that will be your standing!

For several years, USM has used an "upperclassman quota" system which allows sophomores & older to rush and get bids in sororities without having to "compete" against freshmen for spots. If USM continues to do the upperclassman quota, that'll work in your favor. But even if they don't you should still do rush! It is competitive, but nothing like Ole Miss or State. It's a great way to meet people and get involved! Make sure your grades are good and GO FOR IT!
