what should i expect?

I am planning to rush a sorority next semester, but I want to know what I am getting myself into. I heard that SHU's sororities do haze despite a crack down on campus. So I just wanted to know really..well...how bad is it? I was particularly interested in either the deephers, the phis, or the gams. How bad do these three haze?

the gams will haze you. others orgs won't

Mostly all the sororities at the Hall haze the hell out of their pledges. They just don't like to admit it.

I was in last year's AGD pledge class and we were not hazed in any way!!! Our sisters were very welcoming and supportive. I encourage you to go Gam! Best choice I made here and the sisters are fun, smart and caring!

Wait I'm rushing in spring too. They haze??? What do they do?? What about the hands don't haze thing? I wasn't planning on rushing the gammas but how bad are the others?

Not true. I quit during pledging last year because I experienced hazing. one week later 4 more girls quit that same sorority for the same reason. Like B.S. said, they just don't like to admit it until you begin the pledge process.

Hi I pledged and was not hazed. My sisters never hazed me and we would never lie to girls about being hazed. Hazing is a thing of the past at SHU and I don't know any girls who have been hazed from my class (spring 2015) until now.

The sororities do haze to a certain degree. Not hard hazing like some the fraternities do, but there is a small to medium amount of hazing. They just try not to get caught or be reported to the Greek Life advisor.

I literally wasn't hazed AT ALL. I haven't heard any horrible hazing stories from any of the sororities

Think about it.....No sorority will ever mention what type of hazing they do to their pledges. News like that will get back to the Greek Life Advisor and the Dean of Students. Everything is on the down-low.

I was never hazed! If anyone is ever hazed, it is taken very seriously from what I understand. Don't let this fear prevent you from joining an org!
