how hard is it to get a bid?

by:

I have a 3.5 gap and I was in my schools pep club, national honor society, tennis team etc. How likely is it that I will get a bid from a top tier house? Also, does everyone get a bid from at least one house?

Honestly, if you go through rush, you will most likely get a bid. With that being said, be very careful during rush, and don't get fixated on one house. Lots of guys put up fronts during rush (of course), and you certainly don't want to be stuck in a house you don't like for your four years here. Go to at least one event from every house to see what the guys are like. You don't have anything to lose, and if anything, that will affirm what houses you really like. Good luck. Don't bring cargo shorts with you when you arrive here.

From a sorority girls POV, I can tell you that with a 3.5 GPA and a record of being very involved, any house would be very excited to see a PNM like you. We really value people who take studies seriously and still manage to stay involved. Some people forget that you're at college for school and not to party, so as long as you can handle school and an extra activity, you're golden. During rush, being honest and being yourself is the best way to approach a sorority girl. Ask tons of questions and be interested in the sisterhood and philanthropy rather than the parties and frats. Just be genuine and yourself and you'll find a house where you belong.
