So I've been doing my research, as I plan on attending SJSU Spring '18 and it seems like there's only a hand full of viable houses to rush. The frat that caught my eye was actually sigma Chi, as is seems like they have the best sorority relations and the better looking group of gentlemen. Correct me if I'm wrong tho, I know the greek life at SJSU is quite strong. (I pledged at chico state so I'm quite familiar with what a "Top House" looks like.

Pledge a frat that doesnt have a rep. U join a group a guys that are you like you. Not just a top house trust me i made the mistake of joining a top house.

just go through recruitment and join a house you feel like you fit best with. No one wants a brother than is joining because the house has good sorority relations or "is attractive". If that's why you want to be in a fraternity then good luck lol.
