After reading the rude and hateful comments on this website, I can honestly say that I'm embarrassed of UK's Greek Life as a whole. If I were a PNM reading the comments on this website, I would be hesitant to join a sorority that bashes other sororities to make themselves feel better. That being said, I am not picking on any sorority in particular - I believe that EVERY single sorority on our campus has been guilty of saying mean/untrue things about other organizations. However, I also think that while this post may not make a huge difference it will make people realize how petty they are being.
I joined a sorority that felt like home to me. I joined because I felt like I fit in and I joined to find life-long friends. (Cheesy? Yes, but I did find all of those things.) Basically what I'm trying to say is that we're all not that different from each other. When you join an organization with about 300 girls, you will meet people from all walks of life. Yes, some girls can be rude, but there are so many extraordinary women in all of the sororities at UK. I have friends in almost every sorority and it hurts to read/hear mean things being said. Let's all try to be more considerate so we can make Greek life at UK project a better image.
