You definitely want to be AT LEAST at the minimum. Most, if not all, the houses want people who exceed it. Some are more strict with gpa cuts than others, but if you aren't at their minimum you should have a good explanation and a plan for how you're going to raise your gpa for college because taking a grade risk is gonna be hard for some houses.

Sororities have an overall chapter GPA that they want to keep up so of course having a higher GPA will help you during rush. Some sororities care far more than others (cough cough ADPi) but you shouldn't have a problem with the rest of them as long as you meet the requirement and have what they're looking for
