out of state pnm
by: pnmI'm from out of state and am really worried about joining a sorority. From what I have heard at most schools you have to know girls in the house to get into a house and I'm just worried since I don't know anyone. Is this true?

I don't know. I have heard that tri-delt and ADPi take a lot of in-state girls but I'd never feel comfortable saying they take primarily Kentucky girls. I really think it depends on the PNM's going through each year.

Yes, there are definitely some chapters where it helps to know people in the chapter if you really want to get in. However, I am from out of state and knew a girl in maybe 3 houses. I joined a chapter where i knew absolutely no one but it was the best possible chapter for me to be a part of. just make your impression on them during recruitment and you will find a chapter that you love and that loves you!

It doesn't hurt to know some people. I know a girl in the chapter that I am a part of. If you don't, that's okay too. Just be yourself and see where you end up. Honestly, if you are from out of state you might feel out of place in a "primarily Kentucky/Lexington/Louisiville" chapter. But hey, if that's where you fit go for it!
