how much longer until uk kills greek life

by:

Phi psi didn't seem to have done anything that my fraternity and many others didn't do to pledges. I have heard that there are a bunch of members getting suspended for very little things or without evidence. We need to stay strong as a Greek community and start being more careful, because it seems like the university does not care at all

Hazing is wrong. That is the end of it. It's wrong in this situation and it was wrong when your frat did it. We need to stay strong as a Greek community and show ZERO tolerance for any activities that would be considered hazing or even close to it. The University cares about the safety of the Greek community and is members and hazing puts that safety at risk. ENTIRE greek systems have been shut down because of one or two chapters hazing...don't think it couldn't happen here.

It's a bid deal. Take this seriously. Just because no one got hurt (that we know of) doesn't mean it's okay. By that logic then it only becomes okay when what? Someone gets seriously hurt/hospitalized? Dead? When does it become not okay by your definition?

They wouldn't have agreed to what they agreed to unless there was proof/evidence. Stop making excuses for them or trying to make it sound like it's not serious.

Forcing someone to drink isn't okay. Ever. You have no idea what that can do to someone. And I know probably more about Greek life than you can imagine, but if it makes you feel better to justify treating your "brothers" the way you describe all in the way of creating a bond then by all means, go ahead.

You know nothing about the psychology behind hazing, the door is never really "open for us to leave" for those being hazed and the "fine line" you speak of is all too often crossed in the heat of the moment because those doing the hazing don't see the situation escalating.

Find a better way to bond with your "bros" than though degrading them and forcing them to do things they really don't want to do.

Look up UK's hazing policy. It's not zero tolerance

True, if the group self-reports then the system will work with them. But that didn't happen here.

How about we don't haze to begin with? How about that???

SigEp replaced dangerous hazing with a member development program relevant to each stage in college man's progress. Instead of "pledging" there is a values-based program for on-boarding Sigmas:
