It’s definitely not Bama greek life. The sorority housing is sad compared to other school’s greek row and not to mention 2 of the sororities are just on the outskirts of the greek quad. Greek life as a whole does a few fun activities and it’s a great way to make a group of friends and get some leadership experience without paying thousands a semester to be involved.

i know of 1 sorority that hazes (zta). you’re not going to be treated differently if you’re not greek. for the most part greek students are very involved and host lots of events. each sorority has different reps and you can see those by simply looking at their personal greek rank. the housing isn’t any different from freshmen housing except you get a private bathroom for you and your roommate and you share a kitchen w a smaller population. greek parking is an absolute nightmare there’s not enough parking by the main area but there’s always empty spaces between tri delt and vail.

I love being Greek at samford but it is very selective. The stereotypes of the sororities and Fraternities are very well known. Certain sororities get crapped on and it can be very hurtful. I think we all just need to allow people to be happy where they are.

Samford Greek Life is waaaay different than most universities. They take legacies but only if your'e a legacy of someone currently in the house. Sorority recruitment is very different from Frat recruitment. Any girl rushing will most likely be hit with the variable quota, meaning she won't get her first choice if other houses need more girls. Also when sororities say "rushxyz," remember you don't actually have a say in which sorority you want.

mainly the only way to be involved on campus is through greek life, however greek life still is not very involved on campus. the sororities are cliquey if they are on the sorority quad (ZTA, ADPi, Chi O, and pHi mu) pledge classes for 2017 on the sorority quad are the cliquiest dont really associate outside their sororities. need to be more involved

Samford greek life is the best thing about Samford. They are so inclusive and love to diversify themselves throughout campus.
