Sam Houston State University - SHSU Greek Life Reviews

Shsu is a small school, but active Greek life indeed. However, the utter lack of Greek row/housing off campus is horrendous. For a school being around since 1879 it’s sad how small it’s numbers are, and sad how current fraternities haven’t organized a Greek row. Overall the school ultimately seems to be restricting Greek life every year, in terms of raising minimum gpa requirement, forcing more standards. SHSU needs to realize Greek students contribute more to the school than GDI’s do. If you really want a true Greek life experience look at SFA (our rivals), A&M, UT, any big school.

By itself, SHSU Greek life isn't bad, it's the Greek life office and star packet that ruins it for everyone else. All the Greek life office does is pin the IFC and Pan chapters against each other. Pan and IFC can't do ANYTHING without getting in trouble, whereas MGC can literally haze a person in the mall area and it's totally okay.
