The Rutgers Frat Guide

For anyone who needs to know, here is the truth behind some of the fraternities.

Starting with the top:
Theta Chi: The largest fraternity on campus, loved by Dean A. These are kinda the nice guys of the top, and have a house on Mine. Great relations.

Pike: Currently suspended, and they usually are. Their parties are great and so are their relations. They’re smaller in size than Theta Chi, but still sizable. The brothers are a bit douchey, but then again it’s up to you to decide whether you like them or not.

Chi Phi: This is the least “top tier” of the three top tier houses. They own their house and have strong alumni relations, but they have a tarnished reputation due to allegations and a rough pledge process. They give bids out a bit more easily than the other two. Dues are a bit less than others on campus.

Now, upper middle tier:
Pikapp: They lost their house, but their relations are still intact. There’s a wide variety of brothers here, some of them are wild in a good way. Their process is not as hard as Pike’s or Chi Phi’s, but medium. Parties are great.

Chi Psi: Great house with some pretentious brothers. They don’t use it that much, but they just recently started to host more events there. They mix a lot with Phi Sig and the sororities like them, so that’s a plus. They’re one of the bigger ones, and they’re a bit expensive, but not extremely.

TDX: On the way down, living off of their past glory, which won’t last long at all. They’re steadily on the decline, but they still throw down well and their relations are weaker but better than others.

Here’s the middle:
Delta Phi: Known for their dages/nages, they have a growing reputation. They merged with Phi Delt back in the day but that’s only helped them a bit. Their relations are good, they’re close with SDT. They share a backyard with Theta Chi and that comes to their benefit many times. Their process is not too bad. They’ll have the house back from TDX soon.

Phi Psi: Not as great as it was two years back, but it’s still pretty solid. Sorority relations are definitely weaker now, but they still exist. Parties are good, the brothers are somewhat active on campus. They still have the house at least.

TKE: They’re gone for now, again. Not a good reputation, and not much to say here besides the fact that they’re freshman magnets.

DKE: They own the house and nationals back them pretty strongly, but they have no ties because of the fact that they’ve disaffiliated. The process is rough here. They attract freshmen only.

Zeta Psi: With only about 35 brothers, this is a lower tier fraternity with a top tier house. The brothers are nothing special but are a bit quiet. Kinda expensive and other orgs use them for their house.

Fourth, the lower middle tiers:
SAE: The brothers are kinda chill, and they do have decent dages. They just lost one house, but it won’t affect the much. They have good enough relations and do philanthropy with SDT and AGD. Pretty okay all round.

Sammy: They’re trying to get rid of their old rep of being nerdy, but some brothers need to graduate for that to happen. Their house is clean and in a great location, and their basement is decent. Their relations are improving, and they’ve cut their ties with SK.

ASig: They’ve lost about a fifth of their members since last year, and they’re on the decline. House is dirty but in a good location and sororities don’t like them much.
