Fall rush is informal and only a few sororities do it, mostly because they need more girls to reach their quota. Typically theta phi does fall rush because they have smaller numbers. A lot of girls in alpha phi dropped this year, so they did fall rush as well. Zeta might have too, but I'm not entirely sure. If you can't do spring rush your freshman year, definitely try it as a sophomore! That way you get exposed to all the sororities and find the best fit for you. Many sophomore girls do spring rush so it's definitely a common thing.
