Rankings?? Really? Every sorority is unique just like every girl in the greek system is unique. NO ONE deserves to be judged solely by the letters she wears across her chest. It's sad to think that many girls won't join certain sororities just because they don't want to be perceived a certain way. Ranking sororities based on perceived overall "hotness" or "partying" only serves to perpetuate negative stereotypes and potentially damage the self-esteem of girls in these groups. Sororities are not meant to be about status or labels...they were created so girls could have a support system while away from home, and a network of sisters who will become lifelong friends. So how about we praise/critique these groups based on their actual qualities and constituency, and then PNMs who might look at this page can decide for themselves which sorority might best suit them, without being influenced by biased, meaningless "rankings."
We go to WM people...we're better than this.

totally agree with how meaningless rankings SHOULD be. That said, each sorority does have a distinct personality (read: reputation) on campus. And the tiers are 100% decided on by how frats see the sororities..which is awful, but the truth.
Chio - #1 (frats think they are hot; like to party. Great for Frat Cred). Girls think they are hot as well. not particularly panhell…I'll leave it at that.
Kappa - #2 (frats hear Kappa - oh they are top tier.) Girls think Kappas are a mixed bag. There are a number of real fake, materialistic girls..but a growing number of genuinely lovely girls (who have a classic fashion sense..let's not forget it's Kappa!)
PiPhi/Theta - tie for #3 and #4 (Frats divided - theta's have the looks/ambition, PhiPhi's are more chill (and weed? lol I kid… … ) Theta is definitely the sorority for girlfriend material so depending on the frat (KapSig and KDR are big theta fans) and what they are looking for this would designate where they fall in rankings. PiPhi is for sure a chill sorority
Tridelt #5- have had the same rep for decades - good or bad. We all know what it is. Some embrace it, some refute it. All pledges know this rep before they rush. I have no problem with it. Fun loving girls.
KD and DG - differences between girls, not sororitys. DG seems..more intimate.
Gamma Phi - I think twamps are awesome. A sorority for twamps is MORE AWESOME
AXO - any marketing majors/PR aficionados want to rush AXO and fix it?

things really don't change year to year as much as the ranks here say they do. probably more has changed near the bottom then on the top, but far few care

theyre actually based on outdated stereotypes that really mean nothing to this school because people in different sororities hangout with other sororities all the time.so just go wherever you feel comfortable and happy. its mainly based on the five "upper" i.e. more well-adjusted socially/more relevant sororities which are, in no particular order chi o, tri delt, pi phi, kappa and theta. they generally have the more "normal" girls who people wanna hangout with, are pretty, have good personalities, etc. they generally mix with the five best "frats" although recently all of them have started mixing with others and honestly these rankings are dumb and mean nothing. go where you fit in the best and youll be happy.

From a male perspective the tiers are almost entirely based on attractiveness then within them some other factors are considered but it mostly comes down to personal preference.
Assuming you're gonna be a freshman in the fall, if you want to have any fun at this school you have to go greek.
