I love everyone! And hate this site! Super looking forward to the day when people stop giving a $h!t what's on it (because they acknowledge that it's all people trying to make themselves feel better or others feel worse), and no longer bother posting. You're all wonderful, really and truly. Panhel <3

I don't think there are any 'tiers' for rush...obviously kappa and theta are the most popular (even though theta has not made its quota the past two years in rush), and pi phi and chi o generally get who they want.
beyond that though, there's no real difference between AXO and Tridelt anymore after their seniors graduate, and I think that DG has fallen below both of them.
also, phi mu is not participating in formal recruitment this year

kappa, pi phi, theta, chi o: indisputably the "top tier," with high retention rates during recruitment. generally home to wealthy and or "popular in high school" types. chi o and pi phi are partiers; kappa and theta less so, but are much more looks conscious. mix almost exclusively with top frats (Sig Chi, Pika, Beta, Sig Pi, Kappa Sig)
tridelt, kappa delta: some would argue tridelt is the bottom of the top, kd the top of the bottom. solid retention rates. approachable, cute girls who mix with top and mid tier (kdr, lambo, ka, dphi) fraternities.
axo, dg: solid sisterhood, nice girls. axos are usually girls that wouldn't have wanted to go greek anywhere else, dgs are more "sorority". mix mostly with mid tier frats.
gphi, phi mu: both have strong sisterhood. phi mus are very nice, interesting girls.

Technically it is not more difficult for Sophomores to get bids and every house takes sophomores.
In reality: It is harder for sophomores to get bids, and unless you're one of those girls who's "practically already a sister" (BFF with a ton of the girls in the house) you're not going to get into a top 4. The middle/lower tiers are less biased against sophomores.
