Legacy Status in Sororities

I know legacy benefits were eliminated last year, but do legacy PNMs still get preference in sororiites?

I think it probably depends on the chapter. I know in my chapter at least, legacy status actually can injure PNMs. We were looking for girls who are independent and genuine, and I think a lot of people felt that relatives could be a little too involved and would not let PNMs make their own choices. Again, it might depend on the chapter and situation, but I definitely would not worry about not having legacy. If you do have legacy, I would say just try to not let it influence your choice and try not to have it be your only personality trait!
