I Need Advice ASAP
by: HelpLoved meeting all houses in recruitment, but one stood out to me as not a typical sorority experience. Can’t see myself giving in any other house. But, the strat I Love does very well with recruitment, so I realize I May not get invited to pref. If I don’t, should I continue with the process even though I REALLY don’t feel comfortable in any other group, or drop out and hope to get in the house I love as a sophomore? Do people have a better shot second year?

If you really don’t want any other house and you are not invited back for pref, you can go to pref at the other houses and if you still are not vibing with them, do not continue. You can be a COB (where they can give a bid outside of recruitment) at the house you want if they have anyone drop or if they have space in the spring. You could always rush again next year too but keep in mind if you write any house on your preference paper after pref night, you may get a bid and if you get a bid from a house, even if you turn it down, you cannot do COB and have to wait an entire year. If you are 100% sure the one house is the one you want, it is completely okay to stop recruitment. Also if you have that house and one you don’t want for pref night, you can also only write the house you want on your paper. Do not put a second choice unless you are willing to accept a bid from either house. I honestly recommend giving it a try because most girls end up liking the house they get but you definitely have options

Great advice above, but I don’t think top houses ever have any open spaces for COB. I wouldn’t put my eggs in that basket.
