Gamma Phi Beta Legacy in Search of Bid

Prolly won’t matter that you re a legacy and prolly won’t be a problem getting in Gamma Phi.

It really won’t matter much if you are a legacy or not. But, if you (not your mom) have a great connection with the girls in the house you seek, it will work out.

honestly the weight of being a legacy really depends on the different sororities. Some sororities will automatically take legacies to pref night (unless they are truly not a match) and for others legacies will only go to the second round automatically. And for others it may not matter at all. I have no idea what gamma phi does tbh.
Honestly, just show your interest in gamma phi and you’ll have a good chance! Show the girls that you are kind and passionate! That being said, try not to fixate on JUST gamma phi and be open to other houses. You should join whatever sorority YOU vibe with, not the one you “think” you should join for whatever reason.

Take this advice with a grain of salt. Gamma Phi is a fine house at WM. Thing is, while Kappa and Chi O are thought of as higher end and Gamma Phi and Phi Mu as lower end, the Important thing to know is at WM there is very little distance between a top or bottom house. It just doesn’t matter. You’ll see when you get on campus for a minute.

All of the W&M sororities are great and have amazing. You will definitely find your home in one of them. I would focus on finding a house where you get alone with the girls. If following in your mother's footsteps and being a Gamma Phi is important, do know they do consider your status as a legacy in their inviting you back to the house. It is not of course the only the only factor, but it is one. You will be happy wherever you end up!
