I'm a freshman who rushed this year and ended up dropping. What is other sororities advice to make myself ready next year? What are turns offs for the sororities?
Truly helpful answers only plz

This is hella cheesy and not what you want to hear but seriously just be yourself and you'll get put where you are meant to be....the process majorly sucks but (for the most part) it works. Just don't go into recruitment with one sorority as an end all be all and be open minded. In terms of advice though, don't treat talking to girls like an interview - treat it like a conversation i.e. be engaged, ask questions to the girls, elaborate on things, bring up your own topics of things to talk about. We enjoy talking to people more when we don't have to worry about running out of questions to ask.

I guess my question is, why did you drop this time around? Is it because the houses you wanted dropped you? My advice would be to stop trying to keep going for what you think is the “brass ring.” You are who you are and you’re not going to be a different person next year. If they didn’t like you this year, you should go for a house that likes you exactly the way you are.

^ so true. And don’t be nervous about re-rushing - plenty of people do it and it’s literally no big deal at all. Wm Greek life is really laid back and nobody will judge. Def just be yourself, be honest and don’t worry too much. I didn’t rush my first year either and truthfully it’s WAY easier when you’ve been on campus for a bit already, you’ll already have a group of friends and will have a much better idea of what you want and where you want to go. Good luck!!
