They're "preppy" girlfriend-type girls. They'll make you a sandwich while wearing a lily sundress, an apron, and a sting of pearls. Very southern, very sweet. They're initally the most attractive to a lot of "middle tier" girls because they are genuinely sweet, but they become less popular by pref night when its no longer about general vibe, but the specifics of the house. They're getting a little more "quirky" this year, and a lot of people like to say they're the bottom of the middle tier this year, though I'd say that's an unfair assessment. They would like to be the kappas, but they lose those girls (obviously) to those houses. They don't go out very much as a whole, they're not too into drinking and partying. They are, though, very interested in frats (feeding back into the "girlfriend" stereotype)

Known for drinking. They're the house that partys the hardest, and their classiness level tends to tank as a result. They're very diverse as a house looks wise. This is a house that is trying to go through an image change (up the classiness), but in reality, they're needed. They are not too looks driven, but like to party, but also are prone to drama. They fill that niche on the campus. They are a house that, in recruitment, ends up being a big crossover with Theta, Pi Phi, and AXO. Those who are scared by the party epithet go to theta, those who are a little more elitest go to pi phi, and those who are a little more into friendship than alcohol go to AXO.

i agree that the preppy stereotype is pretty prevalent in dg, they like to dress up and look nice, and heaven knows they love their country music, but the most recent 2 pledge classes seem to be diversifying this sorority a lot. my freshman year i rarely saw dgs out, now i always run into at least a few partying at the units or at the college delly.

I still don't quite understand why Pi Phi is constantly billed as a "top tier" sorority...?! So much negativity and such loose sisterhood!

For a certain type of girl, AXO is an easy and obvious first choice. Some girls will cut them first, others will continuously pref them first. The ones who pref them first are the ones just looking for friendships and a stress-free environment from joining a sorority, and want to be more involved in other things than spending all their time with sorority stuff. So yeah, they're not outrageously social with frats, but everyone I know in AXO loves it.
