dg vs aephi

by: Wustl 17 guy

I see a lot of the ranks say that dg is higher than aephi. Just putting my 2 cents...I would MUCH rather mix with aephi than dg, any day of the week, and I bet any guy in any frat would say the same, except maybe sig nu. Aephi is so fun, and dg has sweet, sometimes cute girls, but honestly not a ton of personality and most of them are pretty bland/boring. I'd rather work in a group project with a dg than mix with one

A lot of the rankings are just girls arguing about who's cooler from the girl perspective...but that's only half of campus lol

one answer to the dg>aephi popular opinion is that dg does much better at rush than aephi. people love to make the counterargument that both chapter go for two very different types, but from an objective numbers standpoint, more girls want dg and rank them higher than aephi.

However, this might be a result of the fact that aephi competes with pi phi, whereas DG is more niche. Pi phi may be a preferred alternative to aephi, which puts the numbers in DG's favor, but that doesn't say much about directly comparing DG to aephi. Even if DG does better at rush, it may be that the girls who aephi attracts have more personality

People need to stop making the 'niche' argument when it comes to DG. Honestly the only people who make the argument are people want to discredit how far that chapter has come in the last few years. Aephi has made the choice to advertise itself as the pi phi backup. With that choice, they have to accept the limitations they placed on themselves. They will never outshine pi phi. They will fall as pi phi falls. As pi phi rises, they suffer because the girls who want pi phi will be more status hungry and less likely to pick them. Meanwhile, DG has worked on creating it own identity rather than trying to be the watered down version of another chapter.in the past few years, that has really seemed to work for them seeing as their rush numbers are superb. i think pnms have been attracted to them because they embrace who they are rather than try to be someone else. Aephi might be better to mix with because they have something to prove to the frat guys while DG is OK with doing its own thing and caring about the frats.

Everyone is probably gonna assume i'm a dg but i just really appreciate chapters that are confident enough to embrace their who they are and don't get caught up in trying to outshine or bring down another chapter. that's what i like about the wash u greek system too. compared to other schools, greek life here isn't as status or tier focused.

well you are obviously a DG. not as great of a sorority or as unique as you make it out to be. simply put DG is preppy and sweet and boring so yeah

Is DG's stereotype even preppy at this point? Over involved and over eager maybe, but maybe 3/4 of the DGs I know would LOL if you ever tried to call them preppy. At this point I think AOII is preppier than DG is.

Also none of the women on this campus are boring. Period. Just like none of the women on this campus are stupid. So we should stop using those words to describe women in any of our sororities.

Wait what? If this is AEPhi trying to get an edge on DG, can it please stop? As a guy in greek life, I didn't even know this was a contested issue. I've never even heard of anyone argue that AEPhi was better than DG, because no one actually thinks that outside of GreekRank.
Both sororities have great girls and great aspects to them. Just keep working at what people like you for and stop trying to belittle other sororities to climb this nonexistent popularity ladder.
