confessions post

How true is the recent washu confessions post that says 90% of fraternity pledge classes are pretty much chosen before rush starts? Am I at a disadvantage if I don't know anyone in any fraternity already? I'm not the most outgoing but I'd like to think I'm a pretty normal and nice guy.

there are definitely kids who fraternities have already decided to give bids to - that being said thats only a fraction of the pledge class. My friends and i knew no one in the frat we are in now before rush and we all got bids. :)

How big of a fraction do you think that is? And which fraternities would you say are more open?

there is no specific number that any fraternity needs to have in their pledge class. At least for mine, if there are 100 cool dudes we'll have a pledge class of 100, and if there are only 5, we'll have 5. :)
