alpha phi
by: areteparatayI'm reading a lot about Alpha Phi doing "illegal" things during/before rush...just curious can anyone elaborate what they exactly do to gain an unfair advantage?

they take freshmen out for "secret" dinners/parties before recruitment, then call and text pnms they like throughout rush to suck up to them and make sure they come back the next round. they also take girls out during the week, hang out in the hall before parties to try to "run into" people, oral bid like crazy, etc. all of these things happened to my best friends and me... we ended up joining other chapters because we didn't want to be part of a group that needed to cheat to get good members. and seeing how aphi has turned out over the last year i am SO glad i picked another sorority.

Alpha Phi acts just as desperate on this stupid website as they do in real life, reporting and deleting every negative rating that gets posted about them to try and keep up the facade of being nice/well-liked on campus. Just one more reason these girls are considered the most annoying people in WashU Greek life. I've already told my younger sister (who is rushing next year) to join absolutely ANY chapter but this one.

i'm not in alpha phi but people need to STOP bashing them. 95% of the posts on here are probably written by insecure little pi phis and kappas grabbing for anything they can to make aphi look bad because they won rush this year. get over it, and instead of wasting time on here being jealous of us maybe go work on rush so your pledge classes don't suck this year

Alpha Phi is the one sorority at WashU that is absolutely nothing like its recruitment image. At least Pi Phi doesn't pretend to care about sisterhood and character. PNMs, don't mistake their dirty rushing for flattery - you're much better off joining a chapter that cares about your (and its own) integrity.

all of this happened to my best friend. she got an oral bid from alpha phi and then was soo upset on bid day when she found out she got a bid to another chapter. it took her a while, but after she saw who was in alpha phi's pc that year and what they were like outside of recruitment, she realized she was definitely in the right place. now she's super inovlved in her chapter and couldn't be happier to not be an alpha phi.
