Why do people call Beta Sig Chi sometimes? Are they different?

So sig chi used to be a top frat at washu but then they got in a ton of trouble so they got kicked off but then beta disbanded and sig chi kids were like
Oh we can take that house and come back rebranded so beta now is just the old sig chi lineage
