Don’t rush KD?

by: Blank

Ive seen a lot of posts on here saying not to rush ChiO&KD with ChiO being for obvious reasons, but why not KD? Is it because the low amount of members?

I do wonder if all of the conservative girls rushing this year will join KD since it has this pro-conservative rep now and if that will mean they’ll get a decent amount of girls even if non-conservatives won’t touch them.

Abolish Greek Life hit KD and Chi O hard. Basically guilting everyone into leaving. The Chi O thing was investigated by WashU and Chi O National and both determined the incident had nothing to do with Chi O (otherwise they would be gone duh) but the damage was already done. They are both great national sororities though and they will both come back strong eventually. This is a great opportunity for a bunch of cool Freshman friends to end up in the same house and rebuild both into houses.

whoops I said kappa but I meant chio. Kappa is totally fine. They've worked on reform a lot.

I would not say that they would definitely be gone if the investigation connected the incident to ChiO. greek life has a history of failing to take accountability for their wrongdoings, and to assume that "they would be gone, duh" is ignorant of the deep-rooted and exclusionary history of the greek system in general.

I was in kd and we received a letter from women of color in my sorority asking us to drop because, despite our best efforts, reforms weren’t doing enough to make kd a safe and inclusive place. they specifically asked us to drop and help women of color create an inclusive social space outside of greek life. anyone who didn’t drop after that letter has demonstrated that they will prioritize their superficial social life over the safety and well-being of women they once considered “sisters”. from a former member of kd, don’t rush kd.

kappa girls literally have told me they’re waiting for “this to blow over” so they can go back to frat parties. newsflash: social justice isn’t going away.

Oof. That’s terrible. Some groups are actually trying to change their organization and make it a more equitable place so kappa saying that is really upsetting. I’d say DG and Gphi are doing the best with reforms and genuinely trying to change their chapter. aephi has done pretty well too.

Lol look at chio and KD brigading these with downvotes. Everybody else in the upper grades and in Greek life knows what’s up about them so really don’t rush them.

Don't think KD is worse than other sororities just because the one girl who volunteered to be president happens to have been raised in a conservative family. Even if you don't support her beliefs, try to talk to her instead of being a part of cancel culture. Also, the reason KD is so small is because SO many girls decided to leave and support social inequality. Be mad at sororities who are still intact and didn't make changes. Those are the sororities you want to avoid.
