Alrighty Then Abolitionists

by: Reform

At this point it’s clear someone from the abolition movement is deleting any threads where there’s nuanced discussion by the reform crowd on what next steps actually look like. Silencing others who want to have conversations is pretty f’d up especially because it’s something you’ve accused those in Greek Life of doing.

There’s value in having a conversation and your unwillingness to let that happen, especially on freaking GREEK RANK which is our last resort, is really telling of the kind of people leading your side. Maybe the money spent on deleting posts would be better spend fundings things that align with your action steps instead of preventing others from considering literally any other option than what you propose.

Harm has been caused by Greek Life. No one is saying that’s not true, because it is. But god forbid we want to think about other ways to come it instead of burning the whole dang thing to the ground.

I had a massive discussion with someone about our different points of view, and I felt that we had actually made some progress. The thread just got deleted.

I heard something yesterday in the meeting that “if you’re scared to share you’re opinions you’re probably wrong”.

Sorry, but if you’re scared to let other people’s opinions be heard, you’re in the wrong.

A WOC who’s in a sorority at Duke wrote a great breakdown of both sides of the argument, it’s linked in the bio of @ajmuth. Highly recommend everyone read it.
