is sigep doing spring rush?

by: freshman guy

I'm a freshman guy rushing this spring. I have a few fraternities I plan on checking out, but I also kind of like the idea of starting a new fraternity and being a founding brother. I know SigEp is starting up this year and I want to rush. But I heard they didn't do formal rush in the fall.

Does anyone know if SigEp is part of formal rush in the spring?

They already got their founder class. You're going to have to be a pledge.

This is a SigEp brother. We actually don't do pledging - you're automatically a brother. Still responsibilities and bonding events but you'll never be a pledge.

And the guys we take this semester are still considered founding brothers. Your name will be on the charter and you'll get to help shape the chapter. It'll be a great experience.

If you're still interested, you should definitely come out to spring recruitment. We've already had the first couple events, but there's still an open event tonight if you want to check it out.

Say what you want dude. SigEp is 100% a real fraternity -- It's one of the largest in the country and has one of the biggest alumni bases. It was founded at WashU in 1922. Obviously current class aren't the original founders but our names will be on the newest charter.

Feel free to hate man. Everyone laughs at new fraternties on campus. But it's a great group of guys who are here to stay.

I actually know the very last of the Sig Ep pledges, played on the lacrosse team with him. Only reason Sig Ep was allowed back on campus this year was because he graduated last year. Assuming the other older Sig Ep's were like him (which would make since, since most people in a fraternity are generally similar, hence why they join said fraternity) the old Sig Ep's were pretty dope and chill, kinda top fratty. New brothers are all social rejects and kind of a shame to the history of the fraternity.
