Also to PNMs, some of these posts make it sound like you're doomed if you don't get into a top or upper mid house but this isn't the case at all. Really the only advantage is clout/status and the other "advantage" is hanging out with higher ranked frats which definitely doesn't mean higher quality guys because top frats also seem to have a higher proportion of douchy guys 😂 There will be amazing lifelong friendships along with drama and a few mean girls whether you're in the #1 ranked house or the last one on the list. It's hard to ignore the hype over certain houses during recruitment but try your best to ignore it and get a feel for which house you vibe with because that's the house you'll be happiest in.

And speaking from personal experience, being in a house where there are more than a few girls who are clout chasers/status focused can be like being in high school all over again.

Absolutely! It can happen in lower ranked houses as well. Girls trying to improve their rankings can be vicious, as we see on this app. I have personal experience with being in a lower ranked house and my close friend is in a top house. Both scenarios can bring about ugly dynamics. You just have to find what home is best for you.

This is perfectly said. It is easy to get caught up in wanting to be in a 'top' or 'upper mid' house because of the status that comes along with it. But it should not be the main reason to join a house. You need to join where you feel the most comfortable.
