pnm has 2 questions please costs and hazing

by: by PNM

I know there's been several topics on costs for sororities but can someone please just let me know how much for a Freshman (is it $2,000 or $5,00 and then for the next year when I live in how much)? My parents really want to know. Thank you AND,

This morning on the news it had a story about Kappa Kappa Gamma at WSU again about being in trouble and then there was a story about Kappa Kappa Gamma back East somewhere saying that its registration and recognition had been revoked after hazing this week.
Is there hazing at WSU? And will Kappa at WSU be ok for recruitment?
Thanks

Costs vary by chapter. Go look on the WSU Greek website where they publish general information about this. Living in the chapter facility is generally a good deal, so if you get the chance to move in after recruitment, go for it.

Regarding Kappa. They are a great house of sweet girls. They'll be recruiting, of course!

Hazing? No. Drinking? Yes. Pi Phi lost its chapter a while back for hazing. It's not tolerated, but it took a while for the University to figure it out.

I heard highest was $4k ($2k each semester) for the year freshman
most others are all $1500 1st and 500 or 2 2nd

As far as hazing- since a house was closed down a few years ago no one hazes. Unless I'm totally missing something. My house is very strict about no hazing. Its not anything to mess with.

Not sure about Kappas. That's a weird situation. Seems so unlike this house I'm still kind of just shocked. Really dumb that it made the news as it embarrasses all Greeks and that's not fair to the rest of us.

Hope this helps.

The costs are different for each sorority.

The higher houses will be about $4,000 for a Freshman while living in a dorm. After that it is about $8,000 (but you don't pay to live in a dorm any longer).
A lower house is about $2,500 as a freshman and then $5,000 when you live in.

There is always extra costs for shirts (you will buy a ton of t-shirts and sweat shirts, gifts for your big/little sisters, dates, pictures, etc....

As far as hazing..... I hope we all learn from what we hear on the news and this does not happen at WSU. I have never seen hazing in my sorority.

Good Luck.
