gpa for sororities?
by: pnmI have a 3.1 and i'm wondering if thats too low for sororities. It says the cut-off is like a 3.0. Would a 3.1 be safe for rush at the majority of houses? Which houses would probably drop because of it?

That is too low. The new requirement for all chapters to be in good academic standing is a 3.0, which jumped up from a 2.7 in a whole semester. That put a lot of houses in negative standing, even though it was not their fault in the scope of things. Many houses now are focused on getting back in good academic standings because the sanctions for that is kind of steep. Houses just want to know if you are smart enough to A) stay off university probation, B) keep the house off or help them get out of probation and C) not be a holdover because you partied too hard and your grades here weren't good enough to be initiated.

Don't worry - go through recruitment and have fun and you will get into a great house. All of Greek Row is great and all house's have both good and bad in them but they are all great. Some of the lower houses have been really coming up in the ranks and don't believe that all of the top houses are really any better than the others. I have friends in all houses and know great people in all of them. Same with the guys, I have friends in many of the houses and have fun and socialize with them all. Be proud to be Greek and enjoy WSU. Good Luck!
