joining a fratenity in junior year? go or no go?
by: pnm?I was wondering if i should try to join a fraternity this upcoming year as a junior? The reason for this is because i have always been interested in joining one, but in freshmen year my friends convinced me not to. sophomore year i did formal, but dropped in the middle of formal due to me having personal issues at the time and it would just get in the way with school and going Greek. Anyways i want to join a fraternity to meet new people, get involved, become part of a brotherhood. I just feel discouraged because i will be a junior this fall and i will be 21 next year. Might be a dumb decision? Do fraternities only want freshmen? Do most upperclassmen drop their fraternity at this time? or do they stay? I'm so confused! At the moment im thinking of doing summer with a fraternity i really like. Without going more into detail, should i do it? Or do think its too late? :/

Just take an easy load this year, it is a perfect excuse since you're probably entering into high level classes.
1, More time to focus on less classes, which you could balance with joining a Fraternity.
2, Less classes will delay you a semester, maybe even two.
3, One more year to be a part of the chapter, and you can feel good that you are in the top of you class since you should have better grades from less classes.
4, Don't listen to your adviser, college is not about getting it over with.
