recruitment from out of state
by: Pasadena guy
Hello:
Do most of the guys get picked up during summer recruitment events or do they go thru formal recruitment in the fall ? I'll be coming to WSU next fall from pasadena, so the opportunity to get involved in summer recruitment activities seems pretty slim. Just wondering if my geographic location in SoCal will work against me or am i OK in merely doing formal recruitment with the masses ?
thanks for your advice.

If you can, please attend the summer recruitment events for the different fraternities you are interested with. Summer recruitment is more laid back than formal recruitment. It is difficult to join a specific house you wish during formal rush because a lot of the member spots are filled up.

You are definitely at a disadvantage being from Cali since the vast majority of summer recruitment events are in Washington. Formal rush will be fine if you don't have a specific house you are trying to join, but if there is one house you really want, reach out and contact them. Guys in summer recruitment definitely have an advantage.
