why is fraternity recruitment biased?

by: Anonymous

When rushing a fraternity, some people can't come to the summer events where you basically recruit your entire P.C. What is the point of rushing your house when 200+ people are interested are joining and maybe at most 5-10 people get a bid. Why, because you live in Washington and some people don't live there and can't attend?

Because WSU is a really competitive school for it’s Greek system so the top frats spend all their efforts summer signing 30-40 guys that they know will be tight and it stops them from checking out to other houses. The 5-10 guys is to grab the specific guys who are studs that stand out compared to the average rush kid. Plus it doesn’t matter 90% of frats base their signing on formal rush besides theta chi tke sae pi kapp sigma nu and probably lambdas
