fall rush
by: Who caresI’m interested in rushing in the fall as a junior (male transfer student) can anyone point me in the right direction as to what my next steps may be? Or if there are any sorts of deadlines?
#1by: Sure
Well, I recommend going to summer recruitment events and potentially joining/signing a house. First, I would recommend going on the IFC page of WSU and research more information. You should find a few houses you are interested in and email their recruitment chairs. I would recommend going to summer events because honestly, they recruit easily 75%-90% of their members during these events. It could be anything from a baseball game, meeting up at a fraternity brother's house, to be honest, it could be anything casual. Now I noticed you said fall rush, what happens during fall rush or formal recruitment is you get to see every single house and interact with every fraternity. Then after that is finished, you are allowed to go to as many fraternity you want you are interested in. It is significantly harder to get a bid or basically an invitation to join when you do formal, not impossible but very unlikely. Join the fraternity for the brothers, not the reputation is the best advice I can give you. Are you willing to live in the fraternity for honestly the rest of your WSU career because that is honestly a make or break, not impossible but they would like you in the house as a resident, varies with each chapter. Good luck.
