I’m really interested in joining a sorority but being out of state already makes it very expensive to go to WSH. Since I’m not from Washington or anywhere near it, rushing is something I’m very interested in doing. I really want to rush but in the cost to be in a sorority seems a little too high and I’m not sure thats another cost I can add on. I know at the end of the day it’s my decision, but I want hear some other opinions. Do you guys think the cost should prevent me from not joining a sorority at all?

100% rush and do it. Two things that I will personally bring up. First is the financial cost, yes, it does cost money to be in a sorority. You need to personally make up your budget up to date and secure for emergency situation. Realistically, don't live in the dorms after their obligations, join a sorority house and live there for a minimum amount of time before moving into an apartment. Remember to plan for four years in being a sorority, make sure you are honest with your parents too so they can help too. Second, there are so many benefits of being part of a sorority, a support system, required study hours, volunteering and philanthropy. Yes, there is a social side of things also. You only have a certain amount of time in college and being part of a sorority house will be one of the best decisions. Don't let anyone influence you, find a house that you care about and connect with. I promise it will be honestly one of the best decisions you make in life. .
