if I have around a 2.8 gpa coming out of high school will I get dropped by most houses? What are my chances of getting in a sorority?

Your chances are almost nonexistent. A sorority is incredibly unlikely to give a bid to somebody with less than a 3.0 GPA. You could try rushing in the spring, or next fall, if you have a higher college GPA.

Yeah i agree. Most sororitys have a grade cutoff of a 3.0-3.4 for some houses. They do grade cuts after the first round

Most houses (especially upper and middle tier ones) have to drop at lower than a 3.0 unless you have a relative or close friend there to speak out for you. However, chapters that have a lower return rate may keep you, and you may find you like it in some ofbose chapters!

Another option is writing a letter explaining your grades.
