letters of rec for sorority recruitment?
by: wonderingHello! I'll be rushing this fall and am wondering if I need letters of rec. to me, it seems like letters of rec are not super common or necessary but could always help. What are your opinions? Is it worth it to get a letter of rec if it's from someone who attended another school?

Will a sorority take you into consideration more if you have one??? Or if you are on their list of like girls to watch out for or whatever

Letters of recommendation can be very important. You have 1000 girls going thru recruitment and each house can only take around what, 50 max? A rec letter will put you one step ahead of the next girl (you are ranked by point system) So while they are not absolutely necessary they can make the difference between you getting into your 1st choice or 2nd choice house. It's extremely competitive & I would say if you can get em go for it,

Point system?? And points are assigned by looking at activities and grades and meaning well..?

for me the letter of rec did not matter much. no one in my family was greek so i got mine from teachers and family friends. what matters more is being yourself during recruitment and being friendly/ excited to be at each house. take every house seriously and don't listen to this website.... there's dope girls in every single house

You are correct, letters are helpful and if you can get them, do it. A few sororities require them, but you won't know which so do not ask. There are also a few better-than-greek rank websites with more helpful info for your inquiries, one being WSU's greek life pages.
