by: heywsuCan i get a sorority bid with a 2.9 gpa or 3.0? I was somewhat involved but idk. Obviously there are other things that matter too, but I dont exactly stand out in any aspect

I went into rush with a similar GPA and only had two houses on bid day, I got dropped from the vast majority of houses after the first two days. Still, go through formal rush but if you don't like your houses on bid day don't run home just bc you feel like you have to...wait for informal when your grades are up or even wait until formal the next year!

It may behoove you to pledge the library for your first semester. It never hurts to discover your college scholastic capabilities before launching into the social sorority scene. You would not wish to be dropped from houses you love for grades this Fall when those same homes may not drop you with a better, collegiate GPA during Spring or Fall 2018.
With a solid Fall GPA, by Spring 2018 you may decide to become involved in a campus religious or sports group. Perhaps you will eventually take a leadership position within same group, adding to your Fall 2018 recruitment resume. Aspire to become a student with ambitions beyond the norm, and see where it leads you.
