mistake
by: DisappointedI had such incredible conversation with 2 girls yesterday at a house. The girls ended up telling me that they really liked me and were excited for me to go through this any everything but I ended up getting dropped. Can someone give me a better explanation of why I might have been dropped. I'm heart broken

You could have been a grade risk or there were just girls who wanted to go back to the same house you liked that they just liked more or were ranked a little higher. It may not be that they didn't like you it could just be that they really connected with others better

Try not to feel bad. I'm sure they did love you. But you'll see when you are on the other side of recruitment your favorite people get dropped all the time. It could be you were edged out by a legacy or maybe a group of girls are pulling for someone from their hometown & that knocks you out. My sorority dropped a lot of girls due to inappropriate social media posts. Party pics on Instagram? You're out. This week is brutal for girls and the boys going thru rush. Lots of students crying themselves to sleep. You are not alone.

First, they should have been trained not to make promisses. The answer is it is a group decision and someone else won out over those two sisters' opinion of you. I could be anything...your reputation, grades are the big ones but in a competitive school it can also be the number of women they can take, over-all composition of the chapter (ie academic, social, superficial). There really is no good answer but having been an adviser for many years I can tell you that the process really does work and most women find that their second or even third choice houses are a good fit.

Some houses will do and say anything just to make girls want to come back even if they don't like the girl at all. Bid promising or promising anything along the lines of that is not allowed just so you are aware. Watch out for this because falling for fake girls during recruitment leads to girls dropping after bid day
