sophomore rushing in the fall

by: Transfer soph

I'm transferring to UW this fall and I am planning to go through sorority formal recruitment. Will it be harder for me to get a bid since I'm gonna be older than all the freshmen? I don't know anyone so I don't have any connections but I really want to be apart of Greek life. So do I have a good chance or not? Thanks!

It doesn't matter if you're a sophomore as long as you're cool.

Knowing people can definitely help you, but not knowing anyone doesn't hurt you.

What about for juniors?

Juniors are extremely limited during recruitment. Some "bottom" houses accept girls to fill quota, and others are more accepting of upperclassmen because they're newer; for example AOPI is fairly new and Phi Mu will be new. There isn't an established sisterhood between pledge classes because they haven't been around as long, so it wouldn't be weird to have a junior join.
