hazing

by:

Hazing worries me and it's making my parents feel uneasy about me going Greek in the future. Is hazing really a thing at any the fraternities in the UW Greek System?

You shouldn't worry. A lot of the frats are non-hazing for the most part, especially Tau Kappa Epsilon.

Some fraternities do haze, but the majority of them either don't or their hazing is light (cleaning). It's not that prevalent after your first quarter at UW.

You should look into sigma chi or tekes they have great brotherhoods without hazing

I get the joke but honestly they probably will go easy on the hazing given their circumstances

They're still going to haze pretty hard. Let's be honest.

I won't say which fraternity I'm in but I got hazed. It wasn't too bad, we just had to do a lot of exercises (push ups, wind sprints, planks, etc)
But they kept it to non-drinking activities and never made us do anything that I felt was over the line.

Only a few houses actually take hazing too far. Most houses keep hazing tolerable and use it as a way to bond with your PC or for fun. UW and IFC are pretty strict about hazing so it's not a big deal.
