cob is more casual but from an insider perspective I'll tell you that it also tends to be more selective than formal recruitment because members will invite people who are essentially pre-screened to sign up like their friends/acquaintances or girls they liked if they know the girls dropped out of recruitment a reason other than that they didn't like the chapter.

did you drop out of recruitment? if you did drop out and beforehand really connected with a sorority girl during recruitment and you know for a fact that her chapter is cobing, after bid day might be the time to reach out casually and let her know you had a family emergency but are interesting in cobing. if you didn't drop out, this doesn't apply.

as always, keep an open mind and realize that getting into any house is a privilege and all sorority girls at UW have fun.
