considering sig eps
by: FroshI really like the guys I've hung out with at Sig Eps. They are so chill and just great guys. They gave me an offer to join but I'm wondering how other frats and sororities feel about them. They don't do the pledge thing but are they still active in the Greek community as far as doing things with other frats/sororities? If they mainly keep to themselves, I'm not sure if that's what I want. I have bids from other houses I like (Sigma Chi, Zetes, Alpha Delts, and Fiji), and I'm trying to find the best house for me. Any thoughts or advice?

Some of my best guy friends are sig eps. Yeah they're not in "the big 4" but they don't try to be which is super refreshing. They are respected and known for being super nice... Definitely the least douchey out of the houses you named. Never heard anything bad about them either.

Yeah, SigEps has some chill dudes in there. The house i'm in is close with Zetes, Alpha Delts and SigEps so Ive been over to all three quite a bit. SigEps does there own thing, they aren't really disliked by anyone and the girls seem to like them. I personally am a fan of Alpha Delts, they have some chill dudes in that house, and Zetes overall is hella cool to chill at, and most of the girls I've met love them.
It's all personal preference though man, wherever you feel most comfortable! I'd also check out DChi, PhiPsi and ChiPsi if you can.. Got a lot of homies in those as well!

COMPLETE HONEST THOUGHTS:
they don't have a pledge quarter and some people have commented that this results in less of a strong sense of brotherhood within PCs. They don't have the strongest social throughout the year, and by that I mean they have to buy their own alcohol which makes them less generous when it comes to girls... there's talk of them being rude to some girls but i know there's lots of girls that swear by sig ep. ultimately it's up to you and how you feel.

Hanging out with Sigeps you can tell they have a strong brotherhood and have always got each others' backs. It's cute

I don't know where you go, but it's not UW. Sigeps are incredibly cliquey within their PCs. Also it's true about the alc thing, a lot of my friends are friends with sigeps and they have asked them to pay for alcohol more than once, even when they were the ones who invited my friends over to drink.

There are a lot of really nice Sig Eps but they have one of the worst brotherhoods. A little pledging would have done them well. They gossip more than any sorority and have tried to make girls pay for alcohol before. Takes academics seriously but if you're looking for a party house, this isn't it.
