nervous about ffr&greek life
by: uwI'm participating in FFR soon and I have noone in my town who has been in the greek system @ UW, so I'm at a loss. The website has been pretty helpful but it'd be nice to get a feel for what that week is really like. How does bid day/move in day work? And my family is also worried about the financial part of greek life- does anyone know the quarterly dues for sororities? Just a ballpark

pretty sure the financial information is online. either way, its usually less expensive if not the same as the dorms...
and bid day / move in? you get your bids and then about an hour later you move in....
id reach out to panhellenic if you have real questions. this isn't the place to actually try to find out stuff about FFR

since your quarterly bill includes food and all of other stuff it's equivalent to living in a double in a dorm (depending on which one obviously). 9000-12000 per year is the range generally. Your first quarter will be more expensive than those afterwards because of one-time fees for stuff like initiation.
As for a feel for the week, it's long and stressful and exhausting. People who say recruitment is awesome and amazing are lying. The process is efficient but it still takes forever and can frustrating. Just try and stay positive even when you feel like doing everything but that

Its typically due sometime during the first quarter. During recruitment, girls will hand you a sheet with the houses' financial plan and you can look over it then and ask questions. And if money is a problem, I'm sure once you're in the house you can make a payment plan with whoever is in charge of your bill.

It depends on what house you sign with. Some houses are even cheaper than living in the dorms, some are the same price while some are more expensive than the dorms
