sorority recs?

how important are reference letters?? i met with a woman today and she said all this stuff about sending reference letters and supporting letters to houses i'm interested in for rush. i know rush is different than in the south (where i'm from) so i'm wondering if rec letters are still super important/necessary???

I've never heard of them, so probably not. Rushing in the south is way more competitive up here. the rate for people getting in a house is over 90%
